Innovasic Semiconductor has announced Module Evaluation Kits for a family of modules based on the real-time architecture embedded in the fido1100 Communication Controller. A kit contains an Embedded Control Module (ECM), a Real-Time Ethernet module (RTE), or a Dual Real-Time Ethernet module (DRTE) along with a baseboard, software development environment, reference design, and all the cables required to evaluate the module right out of the box. All modules are supported by LEASH – a software framework that allows users to take full advantage of the fido1100 “RTOS Kernel in a Chip”.
The software development environment is a Sourcery G++ GNU tool chain containing an industry-standard Eclipse IDE from Code Sourcery. This environment coupled with an extensive software library and sample applications makes the fido1100 multi-context hardware architecture easy-to-use and capable of debugging source code in real-time.

An EtherNet/IP stack from Pyramid Solutions and a TCP/IP Protocol Suite from NexGen Software can be added to enable robust and high availability processing and communication.

Modules are industrial grade and can be mounted directly on another processor board or can be incorporated into a processor board using the reference design. All stacks, software, and “RTOS Kernel in a Chip™” are royalty-free enabling a cost effective production solution.
