Corelis, Inc., the leading supplier of high-performance boundary-scan test and measurement tools, has released a new version of its I2C Exerciser software, Version 1.21.
The software adds new capabilities to Corelis’ already robust BusPro-I and CAS-1000-I2C/E bus analyzer products. Major improvements and features incorporated in this release include:

* Windows 64-bit OS support including Windows 7
* Discrete I/O pin timing and signal traces are now supported during monitor mode
* Emulation of SMBus transactions through added script functions
* Script language now supports array data types
* New script functions for hex integer conversions

The I2C Exerciser software allows users to non-intrusively listen to and record all I2C bus traffic while displaying real-time data in both state and waveform timing windows. By using the computer hard drive for trace storage, the software has virtually unlimited trace data recording capability. Advanced software capabilities include master and slave emulation, a scripting language to control acceptance test sequences, as well as SDA and SCL parametric measurements.

“The CAS-1000-I2C/E bus analyzer fulfills the most complex I2C bus analysis tasks and has the most versatile feature set available in the market today,” states Ryan Jones, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at Corelis. “The continued improvement of our I2C Exerciser software provides a vast framework for CAS-1000-I2C/E users to utilize this software in all phases of a product lifecycle including development, prototype validation, troubleshooting, system integration, production, and field testing. The same high-end software is also compatible with the lower cost BusPro-I analyzer which offers basic capabilities for I2C monitoring, debugging, and programming.”

The new software upgrade is available for free to registered owners of the Corelis BusPro-I and CAS-1000-I2C/E products. A trial version of the software is also available to new users by registering on the Corelis website:
