ZMDI has collaborated with Altium to develop new schematic and board-level CAD libraries for ZMDI’s products. The libraries, which help engineers expedite their designs, are available directly from the Altium CAD software. Links to the Altium libraries are now available on ZMDI’s website, and can be downloaded for offline use.

The libraries contain ZMDI’s products’ symbols and footprints used in schematics and PCB designs (both 2D and 3D). Each component has a short description, a link to the datasheet on ZMDI’s product webpage and package information as well as some other useful parameters. Reference designs and board templates can be distributed and updated via this service. Additional information is included, such as BOM tools for calculating costs.

“In addition to expediting designs for our customers, this new partnership with Altium promotes our products among all Altium users,” said Torsten Herz, Applications Engineering Team Manager, Multi-Market Sensing Platform ICs product line, ZMDI. “ZMDI has chosen Altium for hardware development tools because it is one of the most popular CAD tools and has a large population of users. All updates and new components can be done through Altium, so we have a common and unified source when creating designs.”
