AAEON has launched a brand new product line called Flexible Embedded Systems (FES). The FES series represents compactness, high flexibility, and convenience. The economically priced unit is another favorable reason for those who want to cultivate the embedded market, but have limited budgets and/or requirements.
The First model of the FES-6XXX Series is FES-6110, which is an x86-based Digital Signage player. The FES-6110 adopts the Intel® Atom™ N270 Processor (up to 1.6 GHz) and features the Intel® 945GSE and ICH7M chipset. The system memory equips 240-pin Non-ECC DDR II 400/533 DIMM socket (up to 2 GB) and consists of one Gigabit Ethernet and one wireless LAN to ensure remote control and easy access. It also deploys multiple storage device options (2.5” SATA HDD, CF) with a mechanical design service window to ensure safe and better on-site service support. The compact size features the ability for the unit to be wall-mounted and fit into space-limited areas. Although the FES-6110 is a compact system, it carries Enriched I/O’s such as one COM port, six USB 2.0 slots, and an 8-bit Digital I/O for flexible connections with inside and outside devices.

The FES-6110 also has an optional IEEE 802.11b/g/n Mini-PCIe module for wireless LAN. If the user requires a fast wireless network connection, the FES-6110 is definitely the ideal unit for the application. The FES-6110 supports dual-view VGA & DVI-D, and an optional 1080P video decoder module to provide better display performance yet still retain the fan-less design at an affordable price.

We simplified the design of the FES series to minimize the cost of system integration and planning with flexible and user-friendly expansions. If the customers are seeking for a cost-effective solution, the FES-6110 will absolutely be a great option. -- Sean Lin, Product Manager of AAEON's Industrial System Division.
