Würth Elektronik and Infineon Technologies are launching the jointly developed "XMC Digital Power Explorer" evaluation kit. The second season of Formula E begins with the first heat on 24th October 2015 in Peking. Team ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport (previously Audi Sport Abt Formula E Team), which is supported by Würth Elektronik eiSos, will be there too. The coming season is exciting not only as a sporting event, but also from a technological point of view as, for the first time in Formula E, motors, gears and motor software can be built by different manufacturers.

Würth Elektronik is adding three series to the screwless terminal blocks of its successful WR-TBL series, including two new pitches of 5.08mm and 7.50mm. A spring mechanism makes the connectors screwless; they also offer an option of a horizontal or 450 cable outlet and 2 to 12 pins. Other versions are available upon request. 

Würth Elektronik is adding 26 series to its product portfolio of connectors based on cage clamps. New models have pitches of 3.50, 3.81, 5.00, 5.08, 7.50, 7.62 and 10.16mm. There are also new pitches available in 6.35, 9.52 and 10.00mm. The terminal blocks offer various cable outlets: in horizontal, vertical and with a 45° angles. 

Würth Elektronik eiSos is expanding its range of terminal block push-on connectors in the WR-TBL series, based on the wire-protection principle, with a number of new products. Wireless power coils for wearables are now available from Würth Elektronik. The company are offering two transmitter coils and three receiver coils which are adapted to the already existing standard chip sets for the WPC Qi standard, making it easy to use already available designs by exchanging the coils for wearables.

In the seminars, the speakers deepen the knowledge of electronics developers and technicians in order to improve selection and use of Würth Elektronik eiSos components in applications.

The STAR-FIX and STAR-GAP snap ferrites are among the best-known products from Würth Elektronik eiSos. Many innovative details of the split ferrite cores are protected by patents for additional interference suppression. Now the cable prefixing has been patented, which thanks to a special conduction, prevents the cable from jamming during assembly.

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has made two draft specifications available to its members that extend the capabilities of the Qi wireless power standard.The first extension of the Qi specification, called Volume II: Medium Power, enables fast charging of smart phones with up to 15W delivered into the battery.
