Introducing radiation hardened point of load converters

It has been announced by VPT, a HEICO company, that its SVPL Series of space-qualified point of load DC-DC converters are now available. Covering an input voltage range of 3.1 to 13.2V and available in six, nine, and 12A output surface mount options, the SVPL products are designed specifically for space applications, facing harsh radiation environments while requiring low voltages and tight regulation for high performance processors.

VPT’s Radiation Hardness Assurance Plan Approved by the Defense Logistics Agency

VPT, Inc., a HEICO company, received approval of its Radiation Hardness Assurance Plan from the United States Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Land and Maritime, the office of primary involvement for MIL-PRF-38534. As a result of this approval, VPT’s series of space-qualified DC-DC power converters will appear imminently on Standard Military Drawings (SMDs) with a radiation assurance level P.

HIgh capacitance is used to reduce the output ripple, improve the peak transient response, and to supply high pulse current loads.
