Connecting VC MIPI cameras to NVIDIA developer kits

Vision Components has announced that it offers software support for Auvidea adapter boards, which can connect multiple VC MIPI camera modules to NVIDIA Jetson TX2 and Xavier AGX developer kits. Drivers are provided, enabling developers to start work on their embedded vision projects immediately. Auvidea's tested and validated J20 adapter board supports all available VC MIPI cameras.

Intelligent laser profilers from Vision Components

Vision Components manufactures intelligent laser profilers for a wide range of applications. The standard VCnano3D-Z models cover working distances from 50 to 2,025mm and between 40 and 1,250mm horizontal field of view. They provide high precision with resolutions down to ten micrometres.

MIPI camera boards with sensor variety

Vision Components adapts its wide range of machine vision image sensors on MIPI camera modules and integrates non-native MIPI sensors such as Sony Pregius IMX250 and IMX252. The portfolio currently comprises ten sensors with resolutions up to 20 MP and is being continuously expanded. It includes global shutter, rolling shutter, and global reset shutter versions.

New embedded vision approaches the LogiMAT exhibition

Vision Components has announced that it will present its latest embedded vision systems and MIPI camera modules at the 2020 LogiMAT trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany. Co-exhibitor Retenua will demonstrate its advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) for forklift trucks, which is based on an intelligent VC stereo camera.

Fully integrated embedded vision driver-assistance system

Swedish startup Retenua has developed the first fully integrated advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) for detecting people around industrial vehicles and forklifts, basing it on a Vision Components embedded camera. This is also the first system trained to detect reflective workwear and using an NIR flash.

Shielded MIPI cables for high data rates

Vision Components supplies its MIPI camera modules with a shielded FPC (flexible printed circuit) cable, which is primarily designed for the MIPI modules and enables high data transfer rates. The company uses the stalwart MIPI CSI-2 camera interface and the Raspberry Pi connector schema.

Embedded cameras with LED ring light

Image processing systems with integrated LED ring lights and flash controllers in a compact camera housing are now available from Vision Components. Many applications can therefore be implemented with VCnanoZ embedded vision systems without any additional components. These systems are suited for code reading, pick & place applications, completeness control, and shape inspection.

Optimised visibility in 3D laser scanning

The proprietary ambient light suppression technology from Vision Components enables measurements with laser profilers under up to 100,000 lux. This is an all-new feature for the intelligent VCnano3D-Z laser profilers, enabling them to achieve best-in-class performance. The high ambient light immunity results from a high-intensity laser, combined with extremely short exposure times.

Embedded cameras with Sony Pregius image sensors

Embedded systems with high-performance CMOS sensors from Vision Components, reportedly deliver high frame rates. The manufacturer has now integrated another new Sony Pregius image sensor into VC Z series cameras. The Sony Pregius IMX392 is a 1/2.3" sensor featuring a 1920 by 1200px resolution.
