Traditional SIM cards have been intrinsically linked to cellular connectivity since the early days of mobile telephony, but their dominance is about to end. 

Capestone and Transatel have partnered to make global deployment of managed cellular solutions for IoT, Edge, and wireless area networks simple for enterprises. Their alliance brings together the powerful combination of Tier 1 MVNO and value-added distributor.

Following Transatel's successful delivery into the UK, Germany and Italy for Jaguar Land Rover in 2018, Wave 2 of the personal SIM card and mobile data plan services deployment programme launched in May of this year. During Wave 2, Jaguar and Land Rover dealers in Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France, will begin providing Ubigi SIM cards to the owners of the latest vehicle models. 

It has been made public by Transatel and Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security (G+D) that they have entered a partnership to enable Scania’s embedded telematics units with global connectivity. Scania provides its customers with a telematics service but is now going one step further, as it is looking to deploy worldwide. 

  From today on, travellers will be able to purchase a 4G WiFi router and data credit to use in 48 countries from Air France-KLM's new mobile internet.
