Curiosity IoT platform unveiled
The new Curiosity IoT platform has been unveiled by Spirit a new standard in how IoT is managed and secured. Enterprises will now be able to manage IoT devices and connectivity over the air across multiple SIM profiles. Intelligence from device data will be generated instantly through the dedicated, distributed and vitalised core, built together with the new operating system.
IoT-dedicated core and operating system unveiled
A global relationship to build a distributed and virtualised core network dedicated specifically to IoT (Internet of Things), in addition to an IoT operating system, has been announced by Sprint and Ericsson. This new environment, purpose-built for the future of IoT, is designed to create an optimal flow of device data, enabling immediate, actionable intelligence at the network edge for end users and enterprises.
DC servo controllers on show at SPS IPC Drives
Sprint Electric is to present its latest range of DC servo controllers at SPS/IPC/Drives 2015 in Nuremberg, Germany. The drives of the extended XLV range are miniature, fast response DC motor speed controllers, offered in a compact, easy to use DIN rail mounting package. They are designed for use with permanent magnet brushed DC servo motors rated from 4 to 12A.
Motor controllers feature digital DC drive technology
A line of DC motor controllers, which incorporate digital DC drive technology, has been introduced by Sprint Electric. The line includes a wide range of DC motor control, with over 450 models covering both one-phase and three-phase, regenerative and non-regenerative DC motor applications, together with field controllers, digital slip ring motor controllers and external thyristor stack controllers.
Thyristor stack controller makes retrofitting easy
An external thyristor stack controller, called the PLXD, has been introduced by Sprint Electric. Supplied with the latest field bus protocols, the controller can be designed into a new installation or easily retrofitted to an existing thyristor power stack where the control electronics need updating or require adding into a field bus topography network.
New joint managing directors at Sprint Electric
Sprint Electric announces two new managing directors. Dr. Mark Gardiner and Gary Keen have been appointed joint Managing Directors and run the company from 11 June 2014 on. The former managing directors, Edwin Prescott, co-founder of Sprint Electric, and R&D director Dr. Aris Potamianos, will remain at Sprint Electric as technical advisors on a part time basis.
New motor control technology catalogue from Sprint Electric
Sprint Electric has issued a new motor control technology catalogue. The updated version offers the latest in regenerative three phase digital DC drive technology. Itincludes now, for example, models within the PL/X range for medium and high voltage applications, which are cost-effective options suitable for up to 500, up to 600 and up to 690 VAC. Also, the new catalogue includes the JLX, a slip ring motor controller that is ideal for crane appli...
External Thyristor Stack Controllers From Sprint Electric
Sprint Electric presents external thyristor stack controllers of the PLXD range. Thyristor stack controllers are ideal for controlling DC 6 pulse or 12 pulse, 2 Quadrant or 4 Quadrant thyristor power stacks. Thyristor stack controllers are used in a wide range of industries where high power electric DC motors are involved, for example in hot rolling mills, plastic extruders, rubber mixers and many more.
Sprint Electric unveils range of digital DC drives for heavy industry applications
Sprint Electric presents its range of digital DC drives up to 2250 Amps. These digital DC drives are ideal for controlling DC motors used in heavy industry applications such as metal working, steel mills, mining, or the cement, rubber and plastics industries. Thanks to the new control technology drive.web, the drives can be controlled over the Ethernet without the need for a PLC or supervisory computer.
