Quantifying SF6 and PCBs with Nexis GC-2030
Shimadzu’s technology and expertise in gas sampling has enabled it to develop a bespoke Nexis GC-2030 for Celtic Recycling in Newport, Gwent, allowing the company to introduce GC screening of reclaimed and recycled SF6 gas, a service that no other company in the UK is currently able to offer. At the same time, the new system increased the laboratory’s capacity for the analysis of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in insulating oils.
Imaging system supports treatment of breast cancer
Shimadzu Corporation has entered the medical near-infrared camera market with the release of LIGHTVISION near-infrared fluorescence imaging system. The LIGHTVISION is designed to support breast cancer treatment through the visualisation of lymph vessels and blood vessels based on the detection of near-infrared fluorescent light emitted from indocyanine green (ICG).
Compact monochromator speeds sampling throughput
Shimadzu’s SPG-120-REV series monochromator system was developed in response to strong demands from researchers and manufacturers for compact, high speed, accurate, and highly reproducible grating-based spectroscopy systems. It achieves wavelength changes ten times faster than conventional models by directly driving a grating with a stepping motor, reducing measurement times by 50%.
Shimadzu equipment for RoHS validation of components
Lambda UK, manufacturer of power supplies, has been using instruments from Shimadzu to test components for compliance with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) directives, which came into effect at the beginning of July 2006.
