Schaffner has introduced three new series of single-phase filters. The three new high performance filters are an extension to the standard variants of the FN 2010, FN 2030 and FN 2090 series. They are designed to meet the highest performance demands for single phase filters.

Schaffner has introduced an IP20 enclosed version of its ecosine evo range of compact modular passive harmonics filters, which are designed to meet the most demanding of harmonic mitigation tasks. This new generation of filters guarantees compliance with the toughest requirements of IEEE-519 and other stringent international power quality standards.

A new benchmark is being set with Schaffner’s product offering of harmonics mitigation solutions. Ecosine evo harmonic filters utilise technology to reliably control excessive power line harmonics with an evolutionary modular product concept.

The FN 22xx HV and FN 33xx HV standard filters for high current applications for 690VAC and 1,500VDC PV inverters, converters and motor drives, have been introduced by Schaffner. These filters are optimised for the requirements of photovoltaic, power conversion, energy storage and motor control systems and take into consideration Schaffner’s application experience with AC and DC power systems.

Schaffner is expanding the already successful range of current compensated EMC correcting chokes. Horizontal and vertical mounting options are available with additional inductance values for currents between 0.3-10A. The new RN series is now rated up to 300VAC and the extended product range enables electronic design engineers to optimise their EMC/EMI solutions for performance and PCB layout.

By introducing IP23 and IP54 cabinet versions of the high-power passive harmonic filters, Schaffner enables an easier installation, wiring and commissioning of the high-end filters in portfolio for AC or DC motor drive applications. The recent filter series with designations FN 341X-XXX-99-E2 (IP23) and FN 341X-XXX-99-E5 (IP54) are ready to use filters wired and installed in a cabinet enclosure which best fits the application and environment.

The Schaffner Group enhances its family of IEC Lock power cords with Japanese PSE approvals for existing IL13 family and introduces the new IL19 family for currents up to 16A. The power cord families IL with the patented locking system needs no change of existing IEC inlets or IEC inlet filters and locks without additional fixture in every standardized IEC inlet.

The FN5040HV sine wave filters from the market leader Schaffner are now available for 690VAC and 600VAC applications. In combination with variable speed drives extra losses in AC motors are reduced and help to prolongate the motor life time.

Schaffner has announced a new power quality simulator called SchaffnerPQS. This free software meets the needs of customers and partners and helps developing fast, reliable and cost effective studies of electrical power systems on a real-time basis. With the introduction of SchaffnerPQS is further supporting its customers and partners. The software is Schaffner’s response to customers' requests for increased simulation and reporting needs.

Schaffner is further expanding its power quality product offering with new passive harmonic filters. The series FN3416 (50Hz) and FN3418 (60Hz) of the ECOsine Economy Line close the gap between full-performance filters and simple reactor-based solutions. They are particularly suitable for applications where available space is scarce and a cost-effective solution for harmonics mitigation is required.

The SCHAFFNER Group has adapted the power cord family IL13 according to the new requirements of Swiss safety standard. The Swiss version of IL13 series with the patented IEC Lock, which clicks into the IEC inlet thanks to a user-friendly locking knob and can be just as easily unlocked again by pressing the knob, has been changed over to the new partly insulated mains plugs in compliance with the latest edition of safety standard SEV1011.
