Production line measurements such as characterisation of passive mobile components are a target application for the R&S ZND vector network analyser from Rohde & Schwarz. It features two test ports, and the base unit is designed for unidirectional measurements from 100 kHz to 4.5 GHz. Its easy-to-use options provide for flexible upgrades.

Rohde & Schwarz has signed a Manufacturing Test License (MTL) agreement with Broadcom. Through the MTL agreement, Rohde & Schwarz can provide certified verification test solutions to Broadcom WLAN and Bluetooth customers. The Broadcom Manufacturing Test License agreement is a license and validation program that gives test equipment vendors access to Broadcom WLAN and Bluetooth software tools and Broadcom technical support resources.

For Rohde & Schwarz all roads lead to Rome and European Microwave Week (Oct7-9). On its stand just off the Appian Way the German T&M company will demonstrate its expertise across many technologies from signal generation and analysis in the microwave range to power measurement and vector network analysis in the highest frequency ranges. The automotive industry is becoming more focused on developing intelligent transport systems (ITS) that prevent accidents and reduces traffic congestion. To meet new test requirements Rohde & Schwarz developed its R&S TS-ITS100 test system, which is specifically designed for the standard-compliant testing of components for vehicle-to-vehicle applications and intelligent transport systems (ITS).

All these devices need to be tested thoroughly and Rohde & Schwarz will be demonstrating its resources as an industry partner at the international Automotive Testing Expo 2014 in Stuttgart (June 24-26).

Rohde & Schwarz has lowered the cost of testing analogue radios in the 100kHz to 3GHz frequency range. It is using an integrated ARB generator for software implemented test signal generation in the R&S CMA180 radio test set. Users can generate any output signal with a bandwidth of up to 20 MHz – a feature normally offered only in radio communications testers several times more expensive.  

An RF upconverter from Rohde & Schwarz extends the frequency range of the R&S SGS100A vector signal generator from 12.75 GHz to 20 GHz. A combination of the two instruments enables users to generate vector signals continuously from 80 MHz to 20 GHz. Applications are in the aerospace & defence sector.      

Users in the wireless communications and A&D industries can now find the frequency range of Rohde & Schwarz’s R&S SMW200A high-end vector signal generator has been extended to 20 GHz. The instrument combines a baseband generator, RF generator and fading simulator in a single box.

A vector signal generator featuring frequency and level switchover times of typically 240 µs is claimed to be the fastest instrument of its type on the market. The R&S SGT100A from Rohde & Schwarz covers the frequency range from 80 MHz to 6 GHz. It is equipped with an integrated baseband generator that supports a maximum bandwidth of 160 MHz.

High measurement speeds are crucial for production testing of wireless communications components and base station test systems. That’s why Rohde & Schwarz developed its new FPS signal and spectrum analyser specifically for these types of automated measurement applications. At just two height units (2 HU), the compact FPS takes up only half as much rack space as a conventional spectrum analyser.

Rohde & Schwarz has released the R&S ZNBT, a network analyser with 24 integrated test ports. The instrument allows users to characterise devices under test with multiple test ports and enables production lines to maintain high throughput by measuring multiple DUTs in parallel. The instrument also offers the high RF performance of a two-port network analyser at each of its test ports.

Rohde & Schwarz has expanded the application field of its R&S RTO oscilloscopes to include Ethernet interface testing. The new R&S RTO-K22 and R&S RTO-K23 Ethernet compliance options allow users to perform standard-compliant automated tests on 10/100/1000BASE-T and 10GBASE-T Ethernet interfaces. All compliance tests meet IEEE and ANSI Ethernet test specifications.  

Rohde & Schwarz now offers up to 10 kW of power in a frequency range from 9 kHz to 225 MHz with its R&S BBL200 amplifier family. Thanks to a new liquid cooling system, these models are quieter and more compact than ever before. The high output power of the amplifier family makes the models ideal for EMS tests where high field strengths are required.

Rohde & Schwarz is looking to increase its penetration of the mainstream and fast growing segment of the oscilloscope market. At embedded world 2014 it launched the RTE which is available with bandwidths ranging from 200MHz to 1GHz.
