Oscilloscopes on parade at Sensor & Test exhibition
Oscilloscopes will take centre stage on Rohde & Schwarz’s stand at the Sensor & Test exhibition in Nuremberg (May 19-21). Products range from three HMO entry-level oscilloscopes with bandwidths of 50MHz to 500MHz to the mid-range RTM2000 and RTE with up to 2GHz bandwidth and the high-performance RTO oscilloscopes with up to 4GHz bandwidth.
DOCSIS 3.1 test setups aided by signal generator
Transmitting high-definition 4K UHD contents to consumers' households requires large bandwidths. Capacity requirements for IP based services are also on the rise. Enter new broadband technologies such as DOCSIS 3.1. The new DOCSIS 3.1 standard enables data rates of several Gbit/s for IP-based transmissions in cable networks. Rohde & Schwarz is offering the R&S CLGD signal generator for network component development and receiver tests.
Russian lab opts for Rohde & Schwarz wideband tester
The Certification Center Svyaz-Certificate in Russia is using the R&S CMW500 to certify ERA-GLONASS systems in line with the TR CU 018/2011 technical guideline. The wideband radio communication tester from Rohde & Schwarz is the first choice for the independent Russian test lab.
Multistandard test solution presented at Bluetooth event
The Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 wideband radio communication tester is the only instrument to support all 38 RF signaling tests specified by the Bluetooth SIG together with other cellular technologies such as LTE, LTE-A, WCDMA, GSM, CDMA2000 as well as non-cellular technologies such as WLAN and GNSS. It will be demonstrated at Bluetooth World 2015 in Santa Clara, California (April 14-15).
Software optimises automated testing using network analysers
The new R&S ZNrun software from Rohde & Schwarz assists users in configuring measurements specifically for multiport DUTs using Rohde & Schwarz vector network analysers (VNA). The user selects the VNA and any additional test equipment and sets the parameters to be measured on the DUT.
40GHz upconverter enhances vector signal generator
Rohde & Schwarz has released a 40 GHz version of its SGU100A RF upconverter. This version expands the frequency range of the SGS100A vector signal generator from 12.75 GHz to 40 GHz, making it the smallest microwave device of its kind on the market for continuous signals between 80 MHz and 40 GHz.
Partners take wraps off 5G channel sounding solution
Rohde & Schwarz and Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) will present a novel 5G channel sounding solution at the NGMN Industry Conference in Frankfurt/Main. The solution comprises the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator and the R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyser in combination with a synchronisation unit and application software from Fraunhofer HHI.
EMC solutions lined up for Stuttgart show
Rohde & Schwarz is lining up an array of solutions for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) measurements at the EMV 2015 exhibition in Stuttgart. Highlights will include compliance tests in the 5 GHz band, tried and tested EMC software with enhanced functionality and broadband amplifiers with expanded frequency ranges.
Options take vector signal generator into 5G territory
Rohde & Schwarz is offering three options for its R&S SMW200A high end vector signal generator with microwave frequency ranges from 100 kHz to 12.75 GHz, 100 kHz to 31.8 GHz and 100 kHz to 40 GHz. An option covering the range between 100 kHz and 20 GHz has been available since the summer of 2014.
eMBMS video performance measurements added to test system
Rohde & Schwarz has upgraded its performance quality analysis system to support eMBMS video performance tests in line with specifications of leading network operators. The new solution enables network operators, chipset and wireless device manufacturers and test houses to verify the quality of videos transmitted via eMBMS channels.
Hardware option extends spectrum analyser range
Rohde & Schwarz is expanding the analysis bandwidth of its R&S FSW high end signal and spectrum analyser to 2 GHz with the FSW-B2000 hardware option. This test solution enables R&D users to demodulate extremely wideband signals and analyse them in detail. It means users can measure the EVM values of communications signals or the chirp rate on chirped radar systems.
IMS server integration enables end to end VoLTE tests
Rohde & Schwarz has used Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to introduce an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) server upgrade for the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester. IMS is used in LTE networks to provide voice services such as voice over LTE (VoLTE). Network operators and manufacturers of chipsets and wireless devices benefit from a fully integrated, user-friendly test environment for verifying the IMS and VoLTE functionality ...
Compact scanner simplifies mobile network optimisation
Rohde & Schwarz has unveiled an autonomous mobile network scanner at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona (March 2-5). Unlike previous scanner models, the R&S TSMA features an integrated high power processor and does not require an external PC, making it compact, lightweight and independent.
Probe expedites current measurements
Rohde & Schwarz’s oscilloscope accessories portfolio now includes the new R&S RT-ZC20B current probe with the Rohde & Schwarz probe interface. Via this interface, R&S RTO, R&S RTE and R&S RTM oscilloscopes automatically detect up to four current probes connected in parallel. The instruments also automatically adjust the vertical scaling and zeroing settings.
Spectrum analysis option added to 1GHz oscilloscope
Embedded World exhibition in Nuremberg was the stage for Rohde & Schwarz, the local T&M team, to unveil a spectrum analysis and spectrogram option for its RTM oscilloscope family. The instrument can analyse the time domain while simultaneously analysing the spectrum, logic and serial protocol. Interactions such as those that occur in electronic devices with RF components are quickly analysed in a single measurement.
1.5GHz, 2GHz models expand oscilloscope family
Rohde & Schwarz has added two- and four-channel 1.5GHz and 2GHz bandwidth models to its RTE family of oscilloscopes. It expands the family’s bandwidth range from 200MHz to 2GHz. The oscilloscopes also offer 5 Gsample/s sampling rate per channel and up to 200 Msample memory; even long signal sequences can be analysed accurately, right down to the details.
Diode power sensor enhancements add flexibility
Rohde & Schwarz has undertaken a redesign of its sensors and is now launching the R&S NRPxxS and R&S NRPxxSN USB three-path diode power sensors. The R&S NRPxxSN model offers both a USB and a LAN interface. Both power sensor models are available for three different frequency ranges, from 10MHz to 8, 18 and 33GHz.
