Functional tester supports M2M/IoT integration
Machine-to-machine communications (M2M) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are leading the way into an increasingly networked world. Rohde & Schwarz is offering the R&S CMW290 functional radio communication tester as a solution for users who want to integrate wireless modules into their platforms and test them.
Handheld spectrum analyser adapts and grows to user needs
The R&S Spectrum Rider from Rohde & Schwarz assists users during RF transmitter installation and maintenance and also supports measurement tasks in RF development labs and in service. It offers high sensitivity of -160dBm and measurement accuracy of typically 0.5dB between 10MHz and 3GHz.
Software option eases design of MIPI D-PHY interfaces
A new option from Rohde & Schwarz permits R&S RTO oscilloscopes to trigger on DSI- and CSI-2 specific protocol data (display and camera) and to decode the acquired waveforms into readable protocol content. The R&S RTO-K42 software option supports developers during the design, verification and debugging of modules with MIPI D-PHY based interfaces.
Making the skies a safer place to fly
Improving air traffic safety now demands the automatic detection of simultaneous transmissions. By Mathias Erhard, Head of Development, Rohde & Schwarz
End-to-end tester targets V2X applications
The V2X end-to-end tester for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) applications is based on the fully automated R&S TS-ITS100 RF conformance test system from Rohde & Schwarz. The RF conformance test system is augmented by the Vector CANoe application and communications test system, which monitors radio communications and internal vehicle buses and even simulates some of them.
Broadcast test centre features new compliance tests
The National Broadcast and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in Thailand and the Vietnam Telecommunication Authority (VNTA) have been using the R&S BTC test centre and R&S AVBrun compliance test software since June 2015. In Thailand, the R&S BTC is being used to test DVB-T2 receivers and prepare for rollout.
eCall test solution makes Berlin debut
“eCall Days” in Berlin (September 23-24) is Germany's largest conference for the eCall system that will be introduced in motor vehicles throughout Europe in 2018. All key players from the European Commission, politics and industry will meet there. Rohde & Schwarz will take the opportunity to show its eCall/ERA-Glonass test solution for the first time in Berlin.
EuMW 2015: Duo collaborate for on-wafer measurement solution
A joint solution for on-wafer measurements on semiconductor components has been developed by MPI and Rohde & Schwarz. The turnkey solution for measurements on semiconductor components in the RF and millimeter wave ranges achieved by a seamless integration of Rohde & Schwarz vector network analysers (VNA) and MPI engineering probe systems was demonstrated at European Microwave Week in Paris.
TV analyser prepared for HEVC trials
Germany will soon experience the world’s first regular DVB-T2 broadcasting of HEVC-coded programs. Rohde & Schwarz is gearing up for this challenge by making its R&S ETL TV analyser – already well-known as a reference receiver – fit for use with the HEVC standard. A DVB-T2 pilot project with HEVC-coded programs was started in the Berlin region just about one year ago. Rohde & Schwarz is participating in the testbed w...
Paris platform for comprehensive T&M line up
Rohde & Schwarz will take advantage of European Microwave Week in Paris (Sept 7-10) to present its T&M highlights for the highest frequencies. The company will showcase its new R&S FSWP phase noise analyser and VCO tester for the first time in Europe. The new R&S FSWP phase noise analyser and VCO tester allows users to measure the spectral purity of signal sources such as generators, synthesisers or voltage-controlled oscillators.
Production tester accelerates GNSS solutions
A speed-optimised production tester - the R&S SMBV100A vector signal generator from Rohde & Schwarz, is equipped with the R&S SMBV-P101 package. During production testing of modules and receivers for satellite-based communications, the basic GNSS signal reception and the connection between the antenna and GNSS chipset need to be checked.
Rohde & Schwarz, NTT DOCOMO ally on 5G technology
Rohde & Schwarz and NTT DOCOMO have anounced they are to collaborate on technological development of 5G mobile communications. The prospective collaboration will include experimental trials of test & measurement instruments from Rohde & Schwarz covering multiple aspects of 5G technologies.
Oscilloscope decoder options cover Manchester, NRZ coding
Trigger and decoder options for the Rohde & Schwarz RTO and RTE digital oscilloscopes have been extended. With the R&S RTx-K50, the oscilloscopes help users debug serial protocols that employ Manchester or NRZ coding. The option can be used with a variety of standardised buses such as PROFIBUS, DALI or MVB as well as with proprietary serial protocols such as are typically found in industrial environments and in the aerospace & defence...
