REN21 is an international non-profit association and is based at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Paris, France.

REN21 is the global renewable energy policy multi-stakeholder network that connects a wide range of key actors. REN21’s goal is to facilitate knowledge exchange, policy development and joint action towards a rapid global transition to renewable energy.

Renewable energy leaps in contributions
  Renewable power accounted for 70% of net additions to global power generating capacity in 2017, according to REN21’s Renewables 2018 Global Status Report (GSR).  This is the largest increase in renewable power capacity in modern history, says the report’s authors.
