Peratech has developed an ultra-sensitive sensor using its award winning QTC technology. Quantum Tunnelling Composite material changes its resistance when pressure is applied, enabling it to be used to make pressure sensors that can respond to light touches even through steel or glass.

Following on from Peratech's announcement about its work on QTC inks for printing pressure sensitive sensors and switches, the company has announced that a paper on the subject is available on the Institute of Physics website. Peratech is working with the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London to develop wearable electronics that use Peratech's award-winning QTC sensors. This is a three and a half year PhD research project funded by an EPSRC ICASE award to explore the needs base and applications for wearable technology bringing together the expertise of industry and academe in a highly creative way.
