New Bluetooth technologies at CES 2017

It has been announced that Nordic Semiconductor will demonstrate Bluetooth low energy- (including Bluetooth 5) and IEEE 802.15.4-enabled technologies at International CES 2017. The company is also confirming details of exhibits, demonstrations, and design partner companies it will be hosting on its booth (#44744 in Sands A-D, Sands Exhibition Hall) at CES. CES will be held in Las Vegas, NV, 5th-8th January 2017.

Bluetooth 5 SoC redefines scope for IoT and wearables

Nordic Semiconductor announces the launch of the Bluetooth 5 ready nRF52840 SoC with features and capabilities that redefine the performance envelope of single-chip Bluetooth low energy applications. BLE SoC targets intelligent automotive applications

Designed for connected car intelligent automotive applications and wireless in-car charging, the nRF51824 BLE SoC has been introduced by Nordic Semiconductor. Under-the-hood systems could also benefit from Bluetooth wireless functionality, because this would enable manufacturers to reduce the cost and weight of traditional cable looms to offer simpler factory assembly, maintenance and replacement, as well as increased fuel economy.

BLE brings model railroading into the 21st century

Bachmann Trains is employing Nordic Semiconductor BLE nRF51822 SoCs at the heart of its E-Z App system. E-Z App was developed in conjunction with Bluetooth model train PCB design specialist and game developer, BlueRail Trains, using Nordic nRF51822-based BMD-200 modules from U.S. engineering firm Rigado that also contributed design expertise to the project.
