OctaFlash memory powers instant-on applications
Integrated device manufacturer in the Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) market, Macronix International, has announced the new Ultra-OctaFlash, following its initial launch in 2015. The new ultra-high performance OctaFlash Memory can perform at an operational frequency of 250MHz with 500MB/s read throughput, which it claims to be the fastest in the industry. This new ultra-high performance solution is designed to meet the growing demand for 'instant-on' performance and real time system responsiveness in automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

QSPI memory selected by STM for MCU

Macronix International has announced that STMicroelectronics has adopted Macronix’s solution and used its Flash memory products in ST’s new STM32L4 microcontroller Discovery Kit with memory, rich graphics, and communication peripherals. Macronix’s Quad-SPI Flash memory MX25R6435F provides ultra-low power consumption in WLCSP, currently the industry’s smallest package, with benefits of longer battery life and suitable for portable small-scale devices or space constrained applications.

Macronix memory incorporated in reference design

Macronix International announced that the NAND MCP memory solution has been adopted and incorporated by Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated as a part of the reference design for a Qualcomm Technologies’ LTE Cat. M1/NB-1 chipset, the MDM9206 modem. Macronix’s industry-standard multichip packages (MCPs) combine RAM and Flash memories into one package, satisfying the demands of today’s consumers on their mobile and connected devices.
