Pulse proof high power thick film chip resistors

Surge protection is becoming essential for all circuit designs. With the SG73 series, KOA offers a resistor series which has approximately ten times higher pulse handling capability compared to standard flat chip resistors. Due to this pulse load capability these are suitable for protection of electronic circuits against extreme pulses and surges. These resistors are available with ±10% or ±20% resistance tolerance.

Thick film resistors are designed for current detection

KOA’s UR73-series thick film shunts are designed for current detection, especially in demanding environments. The special facedown construction makes lower resistance values with a low T.C.R. possible. Compared to KOA’s existing UR73-series the new UR73V-series has an even better T.C.R. and its wide operating temperature range of -55 to +155°C makes it suitable for applications such as automotive or hi-rel DC/DC converters.

Low Ohm Thick Film Flat Chip Resistors from KOA

KOA’s UR73D-series thick film shunts are designed for current detection in power supplies, motor control and industrial automation applications. The special face down construction (mounting of the resistive element on the lower face of the component) yields low T.C.R. ratings for this series. The resistors are designed for operation from -55°C to +125°C.

Ultra Flat Power Inductors from KOA

KOA expands its range of ultra flat power inductors. The PL inductor series with ferrite core features a maximum height of 0.5 mm. The new size 1008 inch (2520 metric) covers the inductor values from 0.33 µH up to 4.7 µH. Due to the very low ohmic DC resistance down to 0.06 Ω, the allowed current goes up to 1100 mA, despite its very small dimensions.

KOA Introduces Wide Terminal Resistor

The WK73 wide terminal resistor is now available in size 1206 (3216 metric). The 90° rotated design has several advantages compared to standard resistor footprints. The 3 times higher power rating of 750mW is the most visible. It is based on the improved heat dissipation through the solder joint. The much higher terminal strength of the WK73 relates to the bigger solder pad. Additionally the lower distance between the terminals results in less e...
