Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) announced a concept study to explore the use case for introducing Airlander 10 aircraft for passenger transport and freight in the Highlands and Islands.

  Technicians recently completed a full hull inspection of Airlander using simple and safe rope access techniques which have been developed for maintaining aircraft. No major problems were found and Airlander got the thumbs up to continue its flight test programme.

Following the completion of all indoor testing, the Airlander 10, the world’s largest aircraft, has successfully exited the hangar for the first time. Airlander 10, a plane/airship hybrid, is designed to stay airborne for up to five days at a time to fulfil a wide range of communication and survey roles, as well as cargo carrying and tourist passenger flights.
