Electric cars buck the downward trend in car sales
Despite the news that March car sales in the UK fell once again, by 3.4% compared to last year, there is a growing force behind electric vehicles bucking this trend. EV sales doubled in February compared to 2018 and there were over 125,000 electric and hybrids bought throughout Europe in March. However, this remarkable growth surge is despite government policy, according to employee green car scheme specialists Fleet Evolution.
Majority of employees would consider an electric car
A survey carried out by Fleet Evolution identified that well over 92% of respondents would consider an electric car but are nervous about relying on one for 365 days a year. The same survey found that the average commute driven was just 7.6 miles, with most employees covering around 200 miles a week and only venturing further a total of five weeks a year.
