Home automation software features sensor & actuator models

CSR has announced the latest version of its Bluetooth Smart solution for the smart home, CSRmesh Home Automation. The latest software release adds sensor and actuator models to build on the original protocol that was designed for lighting control. This makes it possible for developers to deliver a wider range of home automation solutions including control of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, door locks and window sensors.

Bluetooth Smart solution powers multi-payment card

Enabling simple and secure credit and debit card payments by connecting to a smartphone using Bluetooth, CSR has announced that its CSR1013 has been used by BrilliantTS to create a smart multi-payment card. The CSR1013, which measures just 0.35mm, is the thinnest Bluetooth Smart SoC available in a 2.4x2.6mm WL-CSP and also offers low power consumption.

Replace wires with software

CSR has announced that it has worked with Avi-on Labs to provide Bluetooth Smart mesh connectivity in a new GE branded line of smart lighting from Jasco Products. These lighting and home control products use CSR’s Bluetooth Smart solution, CSRmesh, to allow an almost unlimited number of Bluetooth Smart enabled devices to be simply networked together and controlled directly from a smart switch or dimmer, a smartphone or a tablet.

Display audio solution meets complex infotainment needs

A pre-packaged display audio solution designed to meet the challenging complexity and interoperability requirements of the industry has been introduced by CSR. mbed shields enable entry to IoT development

CSR has released connectivity solutions for the ARM mbed OS that will enable developers to produce complete IoT solutions with increasing speed and ease. Two mbed expansion boards, also known as shields,  will be offered to the IoT developer community: one combining WiFi and Bluetooth based on the CSR6030 and CSR8311; and the other offering Bluetooth Smart connectivity based on the CSR1010.

Platform enables multi-room networked home audio systems

Launched at CES 2014, the VibeHub platform aims to make it easier for device manufacturers to deliver multi-room networked home audio products. CSR's platform, which is now available to developers, provides synchronised multi-room audio around the home using its SyncLock technology. This technology enables devices to take content from any local or cloud-based source and create a multi-room audio experience over an existing home Wi-Fi network.
