Capgemini Group has continued to augment its Intelligent Industry offerings with the launch of Altran’s 5G Lab and 5G Lab-as-a-Service (LaaS) for telecommunications companies, enterprises and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). 

Automotive OEMs have an opportunity to exploit the full potential of connected services, but must act quickly as the gap between them and digital players widens. This is according to a new research report from Capgemini Invent exploring the road towards profitability for automotive connected services.

The US looks set to lose its top spot as the world’s largest cashless region in 2020 due to emerging Asian markets led by China, and the popularity of payment systems such as Alibaba's Alipay and Tencent's WeChat Pay.

Industrial companies are embracing 5G connectivity as a primary enabler of digital transformation, and plan to implement the technology within two years of it reaching the market. This is spurring interest in private licenses, with nearly half of large industrial companies (47%) intending to apply, according to the latest findings from the Capgemini Research Institute.
