Full die redundancy included with linear Hall sensor IC
Incorporating full die redundancy with the added benefits of full diagnostics, the A1336 from Allegro Microsystems includes a combination of these two features, which allows for a higher level of diagnostics without interruption to the application (where diagnostics would otherwise render a die temporarily unresponsive), and also allows the controller to know which die to trust when the two outputs do not agree.
Hall sensor IC is targeted at automotive applications
The ALS31000 from Allegro MicroSystems is a unidirectional linear Hall sensor IC targeted at automotive and industrial applications such as displacement and angular position sensing which require high-accuracy operation combined with a small package size. The accuracy of this factory-programmed device is enhanced via end-of-line programming of the temperature coefficient to optimise both sensitivity and quiescent voltage output across the fu...
Current sensors for isolation in high voltage systems
Any item of equipment that incorporates high voltage control components and a user interface has to be designed with safety clearly in mind in order to protect users from electric shock. Shaun Milano of Allegro MicroSystems explains.
