The eSOMTK1, an nVIDIA Tegra K1 (TK1) system-on-module (SOM) manufactured by e-con Systems offers engineers the opportunity to dramatically improve time-to-market for their product designs. The module, available at L2Tek, facilitates faster simultaneous hardware and software development. The compact SOM is ideal for drones, smart surveillance, robotics and telepresence applications.

The SOM enables powerful parallel computing supporting Android and Linux operating systems. Delivering multiple camera support for full HD USB 3.0 and MIPI cameras, 3D positioning (gyroscope and acceleration) and high speed encoding and decoding, the module delivers unprecedented graphics processing.

With WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, the nVIDIA TK1 harnesses ARM's advanced Cortex A15 CPU, together with a third-generation battery-saver core, to deliver record levels of performance and battery life.

This Variable Symmetric Multi-Processing architecture from nVIDIA enables four performance cores to be used for a maximum burst when required, with each core independently and automatically enabled and disabled based on workload.

The Propus, a development kit for eSOMTK1, is also now available from L2Tek. It features three high-speed camera interfaces with support for dual 13MP camera streaming and 4K video streaming at 30fps.
