Sony to highlight GigE advances at Vision 2009

At this year's VISION show in Stuttgart, Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions (ISS) division will be placing the emphasis on its GigE camera modules and highlighting the technical innovations that the technology enables. The division will also be demonstrating a futuristic computer control technology based on vision systems.
At this year's VISION show in Stuttgart, Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions (ISS) division will be placing the emphasis on its GigE camera modules and highlighting the technical innovations that the technology enables. The division will also be demonstrating a futuristic computer control technology based on vision systems.

Commenting on the forthcoming show Arnaud Destruels of Sony's ISS division stated: Advancing GigE has been a priority throughout the past year and we've been actively involved in a rigourous benchmarking process to ensure the technology is right for the market.

GigE has matured as a standard and our customers have begun to embrace the technology, creating several truly innovative applications which benefit from the increased transmission range, such as those in the surveillance, robotics, automotive and pharmaceutical sectors.

Sony will be on hand to discuss its complete range of cameras throughout VISION 2009.
