Distributor for Moxa products, Amplicon has introduced the OnCell G3150A-LTE series, a new LTE cellular gateway enabling high speed data transmission without compromising network security.

This LTE cellular gateway from Moxa is designed to enhance remote connection security and reliability, enabling high speed data transmissions to the Industrial network. Developments in cellular technology means long range remote access requirements are no longer restricted by distance or network speed constraints.

Applications using field connectivity can make use of the LTE standard to ensure reliable and real time maintenance, management, and monitoring of serial and Ethernet edge devices, whilst eliminating the need for complex and expensive wiring in hard to reach areas.

Built-in security mechanisms help to reduce data transmission risks such as unauthorised access and cyber attacks for critical data travelling across cellular networks. To achieve this, secure VPN communication exists in both master and client modes and support for site-to-site security protocols, such as OpenVPN, GRE, and IPSec. In addition, the gateway complies with the technical requirements of the IEC 62443-4-2 cyber security standard.

In addition the Moxa OnCell Central Manager Tool is available at no extra cost, facilitating fast deployment through mass configuration of cellular devices, and remote device maintenance. Network operators can use this tool to remotely upgrade firmware on devices and rectify faults by sending SMS control commands to remotely reboot the gateways.

Dominic Dempster, Data communications Product Specialist at Amplicon commented: “The Moxa OnCell LTE series are a new generation of advanced gateways and routers, demonstrating ongoing commitment to providing a competitive solution with security, latest technology, and affordability at the heart of their design.”
