Portwell has announced NANO-8045, a new industrial-level motherboard with the latest Intel ATOM eMenlow platform for embedded products. Based on Intel System Controller Hub US15W, NANO-8045 supports one 200-pin SO-DIMM memory slot for DDR2 SDRAM up to 2GB. It comes with two SATA ports that can let customers save cost to source IDE devices. Also it has one Type II CompactFlash socket, dual independent display by DVI-D and single channel 24-bit LVDS, one gigabit Ethernet, and six USB ports. Besides, there is the other low profile type named NANO-8045L. It removes COM port from rear I/O to generate only less than 20mm I/O height for slim and compact size solutions.
Without exception that the compact size and low power now are the major features in some industry PC fields, NANO-8045 is specifically designed to operate at very low power consumption (less than 10 watts at full loading). In addition to low power, NANO-8045 can operate at low heat, so it can be a truly fanless configuration and battery operated.

“The size of NANO-8045 is only 120mm x 120mm (4.72 x 4.72), measuring 50 percent of the standard Mini-ITX.” says Vincent Liao, senior manager of Portwells Advanced Product Research Department. This new micro-architecture benefits a range of low-power systems and handheld mobile devices in applications such as Medical Healthcare, Mobile Kiosk, Mobile Gaming and Digital Signage.

Martee Huang, sales VP of Portwell, points out that NANO-8045 adopts Intel® Atom™ processor Z510/Z530 and chipsets can readily satisfy the requests for smaller board size motherboard and fanless systems. “The compact design of NANO-8045 NANO-ITX form factor does more than just keep the size down, it also helps to reduce power consumption. It features DC 12V input on board that can generate cost benefit when building systems. ” “NANO-8045 is the perfect solution for small embedded applications.” Portwell is devoted to implement the latest Intel technologies into industry computing platform with different form factors that allow customers to design their products with rich functions. It also shortens response time as well as enriches benefits to end user's operating experience.
