The ICA In-Cell range of analogue strain gauge amplifiers is designed to fit close to the strain gauge in a load cell or similar sensor in order to provide a reliable, low-noise, cost-effective signal conditioning solution. The ICA range is also an ideal cost-efficient solution in many other OEM, R and D, troubleshooting and process instrumentation applications.

The ICA range is also an ideal cost-efficient solution in many other OEM, R and D, troubleshooting and process instrumentation applications.

The ICA range has six models to give a wide choice of outputs:

ICA1 is a 3-wire device with 0-10V output

ICA2 is three-wire 0-5V

ICA3 is 4-wire ±10V

ICA4 is 3-wire 4-20mA

ICA5 is 2-wire 4-20mA, and

ICA6 is 3-wire ±10V.

All of the models are available as industrial stability (S) versions, and (except for ICA5) as very high stability (H) versions. Additionally, ICA5ATEX approved version.

is available as an

The ICA series are state-of-the-art, precision amplifiers constructed using surface-mount technology and mounted in a cylindrical package only 19.5mm in diameter and 7.6mm high. They have solder pads for external connections, potentiometers for adjusting offset and gain, a high noise immunity and permit precalibration of the electronics to the transducer to save time at final installation, and allow screw mounting and earth bonding for EMC.

Once calibrated and fitted, the ICAs will operate maintenance-free, and the use of such a precision amplifier close to the strain gauge minimises noise pickup and allows use in installations requiring long cabling lengths without loss in performance.

The analogue outputs allow direct connection to a range of analogue output devices, such as chart recorders, displays, industrial instrumentation or, with an A/D card, PC and PLCs.

Said Aptifirst's Roy Carter, The ICA series is a beautifully engineered range of precison analogue amplifiers which are very cost-effective devices for converting the fragile and delicate signals from a raw strain gauge bridge to robust high-level signals. Their light weight - only a few grammes - makes them ideal for dynamic applications where weight is crucial. They have uses in many fields - for engineering projects, laboratory apparatus, process instrumentation and, of course, for load cells, pressure sensors, torque transducers and similar devices.

Other strain gauge conditioning instruments available from Aptifirst include the D-Cell, DSC and DSCUSB intelligent strain gauge amplifiers (all of which will permit a strain gauge device to be connected directly to a computer system), the T24 Radio Telemetry system, which has a Strain Gauge input module, the SGA analogue strain gauge amplifier, the ADP15 series of panel- and DIN-rail mount process control instruments and the ADW15 and SMW controllers for weighing processes.

Aptifirst also has a range of cost-effective panel-mounting temperature controllers, timers, dataloggers and sapphire window optical process probes.
