Due to the wide adoption of Layer 3 within industrial environments, ORing has released three Layer-3 Gigabit industrial Ethernet switches. Featuring 12 to 20 Gigabit ports, the IGPS-R9084GP, IGS-R9812GP and DGS-R9812GP_AIO_S switches integrate 100/1000Base-X SFP modules to offer more versatile and longer-distance connection options.

The Ethernet ports of the IGPS-R9084GP are compatible with the IEEE802.3af / IEEE 802.3at PoE standards, allowing each port to provide up to 30W power to a PD device.

Apart from during static routing, these switches automatically forward packets to the destination device even if it is not on the same network, and then update their MAC tables through the learning ability. When no cross-network transmission is required, each LAN will remain separated, enabling higher security and bandwidth usage efficiency. By allowing the connection of different LANs, the devices provide a high level of scalability.

The Routing Information and Virtual Router Redundancy protocols are also supported by the switches. The former locates the shortest transmission route for packets, while the latter provides routing redundancy. If the primary Layer 3 switch fails, the connection will automatically switch to a back-up L3 switch, ensuring uninterrupted transmission. The IGPS-R9084GP, IGS-R9812GP and DGS-R9812GP_AIO_S switches are particularly suitable for IP surveillance, factory automation and rolling stock, all of which require continued connectivity.
