The BVM Group has introduced the IMB-A160 SBC, which, based on the AMD dual core Embedded G-Series APU, complements the existing portfolio of Intel Atom based Mini-ITX (170 x 170mm) motherboards. The very low power consumption processor is available in three versions: the 1.65GHz T56N, the 1.4GHz T48E and the 1.0GHz T40E, all run under the AMD A55 Express chipset.
All processors are 413 pin Micro-BGA devices and the board supports up to 8GB of 1333MHz SDRAM. The integrated custom heatsink enables fanless operation in most environments. Typical applications are information kiosks, gaming machine PanelPCs, digital signage, industrial automation, digital video recorders and all graphics intensive uses.

Video outputs driven by the AMD Radeon HD6320 or HD6250 include 1920 x 1200 VGA, dual channel 24-bit LVDS and HDMI 1.3; multi-screen displays are supported. Two Gigabit LAN ports, four 6GB/s SATAIII mass storage ports, six USB2.0 ports, two RS232/422/485 serial ports and a LVDS screen driver port are provided. Extended interfaces include two Mini-PCIe slots and a PCIe x4 multi-lane slot. The mSATA connector facilitates the use of solid-state storage within the board profile.

The good graphics performance, with a wide choice of output formats, combined with low power consumption and small size, make the IMB-A160 ideal for use in set-top boxes and PanelPCs.
