In keeping with the current IoT market trend, Amplicon has introduced the Moxa NPort IA5000A series. This has been designed to provide a solution for serial devices that need to connect to an Ethernet network. The Moxa NPort IA5000A series are user-friendly device servers designed to ensure reliable serial-to-Ethernet connectivity for the industrial automation market.
These device servers are solidly built with a metal housing, and they provide a range of features including full surge protection for LAN/serial/power, dual Ethernet port to reduce wiring cost, redundant power inputs to ensure uninterrupted operation and C1D2, ATEX and IECEx certification to ensure safe operation.
In addition, the IA5000A series have redundant power inputs as standard; advanced warning mechanisms such as relay outputs and email, a wide -40 to 75°C temperature range and DIN-rail mountable.
Dominic Dempster, Data Communications product specialist at Amplicon commented: “Connecting your serial devices to an Ethernet network enables control of an entire application without having to physically monitor each and every device in person. Serial device servers provide advanced warning and surge protection allowing management and decision makers to respond to issues with minimal interference to company operations and their end clients."
