APEM has introduced the CANbus J1939 and the CANopen interfaces for its operated HF series finger joystick. The joystick features contactless Hall effect sensing to provide long life proportional control for over five million lifecycles. It is available with up to three proportional axis and two momentary pushbuttons and has been rated for an environmental protection level of IP67.

Featuring a compact body and measuring only 40mm below panel, the device requires minimal console space, making it suitable for vehicle applications where ergonomics and operator comfort are paramount.

The CANbus J1939 option may be specified with a Baud rate of 125, 250, 500kbit/s, 1Mbit/s and a cycle time of either 50 or 15ms. The J1939 option is available with up to four default addresses. A change on the termination end allows users to change the device IDs, enabling the use of up to four joysticks on the same BUS. Additional joystick addresses may be specified during the product configuration.

The HF series CANbus option accommodates a 9 to 35VDC power supply and will operate between -40 to +85°C. It has been qualified per EMC standards, EN61000-6-3:200, EN61000-4-3 Extended and ESD: EN61000-4-2.
