Amplicon has introduced the Intel Core 4th gen processor family, providing outstanding processing power with low power consumption and thermal characteristics and rich I/O. The introduction of the Haswell architecture signals further advancements and capabilities from predecessors; lower power consumption, greater numbers of USB 3.0 and SATA III channels and iAMT revision 9.

Haswell processors follow the well-known Intel ‘tick tock’ format, in this case, Haswell brings in new microarchitecture on an already 22nm die. The Impact-R and Ventrix offer great solutions for advanced industrial applications that require superb display and processing power, all packaged in the reliable and well established Amplicon systems. Both the Impact-R and Ventrix use the latest Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 road mapped processors, ensuring the longest life cycle possible.

Amplicon Ventrix systems offer up to 16GB DDR3 or DDR3L, with the ability to auto detect, minimising configuration when changing over. With the Q87 chipset, the Ventrix system will support four SATA III channels with RAID, four USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 suiting all standard peripherals whilst still supporting legacy I/O such as serial communication, PS/2 and parallel ports. Using an additional break out, the Ventrix can also support HDMI or DVI, removing the need for potentially expensive graphics cards.

Gavin Chalkley, Industrial Computing Specialist, Amplicon, commented: “The introduction of the Haswell architecture increases the power of the Ventrix and Impact-R systems, allowing for high demand applications to be run without strain.”
