The AMP-TWIST 6AS connector gives the customer many advantages with regard to security of investment, as this connector meets the upcoming international standards for Class EA and Category 6A and accepts any Category 6A patch cord, while still maintaining high system performance. By using the newest re-embedding technology, developed for Category 6A connecting hardware, the TE engineering team has designed this new connector by using the latest electrical modelling technology and a complex PCB design.
The result is a connector that not only meets the minimum requirements for the Category 6A component specification as defined by ISO/IEC, IEC and CENELEC, but even exceeds all these relevant international and regional standards. AMP-TWIST 6AS even reaches 600 MHz performance based on upcoming ISO/IEC Category 6A component specifications. Furthermore, the new AMP-TWIST 6AS SL Jack is significantly smaller than any previous Category 6 connector, allowing it to fit into all global faceplates and patch panels, while at the same time being compatible with all AMP NETCONNECT XG patch panels and faceplates.

In conjunction with the release of the AMP-TWIST 6AS SL Jack, a full range of Category 6A patch cords has been released. Both components are vital parts of the new AMP NETCONNECT XGA cabling system. By exceeding the minimum requirements for connecting hardware as specified in IEC 60603-7-51, the new XGA copper system allows the user to configure very short links and channels, while still meeting all requirements for transmitting 10GBASE-T. This is a clear advantage for server rooms and data centers, where short links offer a big space advantage.
