USB-C versions extend data connector range

The range of XLR-Format Feedthrough Data Connectors from Cliff Electronics has been increased with the addition of single and dual USB-C versions. The industry standard 24-pin fully reversible plug USB-C connector system provides high speed transport of data and power connecting system hosts to peripheral devices and replaces various USB-B and USB-A connectors and cables with a future-proof standard.

The new USB-C FT connector is available with either one or two connectors and with a plastic or rugged nickel or black metal finished XLR housings enhancing the high quality, high performance and prestige image of this new product range.

All Cliff Feedthrough connectors may be front or rear mounted to control panels and all versions, metal and plastic, share the same features and dimensions.

The Cliff FT Series offers true feed-through connection, allowing standard cabling to be used to connect at both front and rear, eliminating the need to solder or terminate connections, simplifying and speeding up assembly.

The FT connector range is designed to fit into the industry standard 24mm diameter XLR connector panel cut out simplifying panel design and manufacture and improving design aesthetics.

Designers can now integrate audio, video, digital, optical, networking and data feeds into professional equipment for broadcast, lighting, audio and industrial applications.

John Hall, General Manager of Cliff Electronics, comments; “USB-C is a rapidly growing connector standard providing data and power transmission in a compact future-proof format, simplifying system design. Our FT connector range continues to grow to meet new connector standards, market demand and new applications. Using the industry standard XLR packaging allows our customers to simplify and standardise their panel design, improving flexibility and reducing cost. Our new feedthrough connecters are being employed in many more applications in instrumentation and industrial markets where our ability to provide custom solutions is welcomed.”
