Stainless steel connector housing offers protection in process applications
Han-INOX from HARTING is a new range of industrial connector housings made of high-grade stainless steel to provide protection against corrosion in applications such as the food & beverage and other processing industries. The new housing offers rugged, corrosion-free, IP 65/67 protected connections to ensure reliable operation in the toughest external environments. Han-INOX is available for connector sizes Han 10B and Han 3A, and is equally suited to data transfer or energy supply applications.
In combination with the industry proven Han inserts, Han-INOX covers the complete spectrum of industrial requirements for device and network connectivity. In conjunction with HARTING's Han-Modular system, the way is now open to address a wide variety of potential applications from
proprietary sensor and actuator solutions through to industrial bus communications in complete control systems.

The corrosion-resistant properties of stainless steel make it ideally suited to use in environments that are subject to rapid contamination as well as in areas where hygiene is a top priority. In these situations, all machine components must satisfy special criteria. Their housings must exhibit no
unnecessary apertures, blind holes or undercuts. In addition, the surfaces must be predominantly smooth in order to ensure that no deposits of dirt are formed and the relevant areas can be easily cleaned.

This is achieved when Han-INOX is used with the Han 10B connector, where the internal fixing screws of the housing combined with the rounded shape of the entire connector casing make cleaning a simple operation with no residues remaining.

Although applications in the food/beverage and packaging industries are the main target market for Han-INOX, other potential areas of application include the aerospace industry, transport, shipbuilding, mining, the onshore and offshore oil and gas markets and the construction sector.
