TE Connectivity has introduced an industrial RJ45 Push-Pull Variant 14 connector with a plastic shell and an industrial RJ45/Fibre Optic Push-Pull Variant 14 with a metal shell. Designed for a high degree of reliability over a long lifetime, the connectors combine combining long-term cost savings with durability.

An IEC 61076-3-117 standardised interface enables quick and easy connect/disconnect, while robust termination technology facilitates flexible field installation without any special tools, saving time. A secure, sealed interconnection in which all common cable diameters can be terminated is ensured by the comfortable push-pull mechanism. The connectors operate over a temperature range from -40 to +70°C.

The metal shell version suits automotive production, welding machines, machinery, motors/motor controls and robotics. The plastic shell version is suited for factory automation, sealed automation units, manufacturing cells and lines, decentralised applications and cabinet-outlets for the automotive industry, solar and wind parks, train communication and data networks.

Both connectors provide high-grade IP shielding and temperature resistance, with the metal shell version supporting fibre optics. Offering good chemical, oil and spark resistance, the RJ45/fibre optic connector can withstand harsh environmental conditions, including shock, vibration and temperature. A high-grade IP rating, combined with its durability, enable the metal shell version to provide a reliable and safe connection, with reduced maintenance costs, for harsh and outdoor environments.

“This range of connectors is able to meet the specific needs of customers. While offering a significant number of key benefits such as reliability and cost savings, the connectors also provide sufficient flexibility to provide for all types of industrial applications - enabling customers to obtain a full range of fitting solutions from a single source,” comments Ruud van den Brink, Product Manager, TE Connectivity.
