Profibus connectors, manufactured by PROVERTHA, have received UL approval. Products are only allowed to display the UL sign after being tested by the UL according to current US product safety requirements. For global marketing and sales, UL approval is essential as authorities, insurance companies and ultimately end users consider certified products as reputable.

In the product safety area, UL, is one of the worldwide leading organisations for test and certification. However, the US market demands more detailed regulations than IEC standards set, therefore, it may be necessary to monitor product design, manufacture, application, assembly and operation.

Provertha’s Profibus connectors include the Plug&Play bus connector series, which are 100% tested quick mounting solutions. For 360° EMI/RFI shielded bus connections, the company have manufactured a crimp flange series, and for field assembly, cable clamp versions.

With special geometry, the Profibus connectors are offered in an EMI/RFI shielded zinc die-cast housing. Available in four housing versions, the devices enable 12Mb/s, meeting Profibus specifications. An externally operable bus termination lever switch is provided for standard use, while an internally operable switch is provided for EMI/RFI shielded applications. The connectors, which are offered with an ON/OFF switch, are optionally available with a programming and diagnosis option and D-Sub lock.

"UL certification is one more important proof of the high quality of our products aiming to make data and signal transmission in industrial networks extremely reliable", says Marco Staib, Product Manager, PROVERTHA. "The UL label expands the application and marketing possibilities of our high quality and reliability Profibus products throughout the world.”
