Nano-Miniature Bi-Lobe connectors from Omnetics Connector Corporation are now available hermetically sealed for use in for high pressure applications that require low leakage rates such as optics, cryogenics, petroleum, space and UAV systems.

Each contact is sealed with a proprietary dispersion-strengthened, devitrifying polycrystalline ceramic compound that offers performance above and beyond conventional glass seals. Due to its non-amorphous crystalline structure this ceramic is five times more resistant to fracturing than glass. These nano-miniature connectors are capable of achieving helium leak rates of less than 1x10-9 cc/sec Helium at 1 atmosphere of differential pressure. The 9-65 position MIL-DTL-32139 compatible connectors are available with weldable or solderable bulkhead mounts.

Rated at 1 amp per contact, these 0.635mm pitch connectors have an insulation resistance of over 5,000MΩ at 100VDC, a contact resistance of 70mV (max) at 1A, and a DWV of 250VAC –initial (100VAC after humidity). The operating range for the ceramic is -269 to +450degC.

Comments Gary Evans, European Sales Manager: “More and more applications are demanding miniature connectors that are gas tight. Omnetics’ nano miniature hermetically sealed connectors are proven in ultra high performance applications.”
