Tyco Electronics has recently introduced a new interface for industrial and rolling stock applications, offering enormous flexibility. With the new HVS highly variable connector system, end-users can choose among over 25 different connector modules and quickly and easily mount or dismount up to six single or three double modules into a solid metal frame without the need for tooling. In most applications the new connector module system reduces the number of interfaces required because customers can build their own connector interface system specifically for their needs. The high flexibility guarantees near unlimited use.
A wide range of connector modules for the HVS connector system is available, covering standard applications but also high voltage (up to 3000V nominal voltage), high nominal current (up to 250A), pneumatic and high density, with up to 25 poles per module available. Modules can take cables up to 120mm² diameter with machined or stamped crimp contacts as well as spring type terminals the preferred types of connection. Connection with RJ45 (coax, twisted pair and fieldbus standards), USB and fire wire contacts is also possible. Furthermore, Tyco Electronics supplies a contact for high-speed applications (up to 1GHz).

Populated HVS connector systems can easily be mounted into all standard industrial heavy duty connector enclosures from Tyco Electronics. The devices feature a ground contact that is die cast with the frame and are pluggable into competitors’ products.
