Mouser Electronics has announced it is stocking the MicroTCA Power Module Input Connector from CONEC, a leading manufacturer of connectors for the telecom, communications, medical, industrial, instrumentation, and automotive markets.

The MicroTCA Power-IN I/O device is based on the PICMG standards developed to meet MicroTCA specifications. Ideal for power supplies with -48Volt and -60Volt inputs, the 7W2 COMBINATION D-SUB connector features two high-current contacts rated at 24A per pin and two signal contacts in a conventional D-SUB housing. The high-precision, screw-machined contacts are made with high-quality copper alloy materials and Au/Ni plating rated up to 200 mating cycles with significant power reserves.

To provide dedicated power input, the 7W2 dual-port connector is ideal on a single-width, full-height power module taking up exactly one slot in the MicroTCA sub-rack. Rugged mounting brackets distribute load from the cable and connector to the front panel in order to relieve stress on the PCB connector solder joints and provide mechanically stable anchoring to the PCB.

The 7W2 power input connector is available in a single-port configuration and with filter technology embedded into the connector to avoid system-wide performance degradation, eliminating the need to provide filtering on the PCB. Integrated low-pass filters with a capacitance of 10nF and 54nF per power pin are standard and other capacitance values are available.

The MicroTCA connector range includes matching plugs, cable housing for the power module, and power output connectors for the modules and backplanes.

“Both the design engineering community and our suppliers rely on Mouser to supply the newest products available to the marketplace,” according to Barry McConnell, Mouser’s Vice President of Product Marketing. “By stocking new products like these from CONEC, Mouser is able to fulfill its commitment to both suppliers and design engineers.”
