IP68 waterproof connectors feature a diameter of only 23mm
Waterproof connectors, which feature IP68 protection and a diameter of only 23mm, have been introduced by Hylec-APL. The mini-TEEPLUG and mini-TEETUBE incorporate an innovative design in which the terminal block forms part of the external housing. The cable is inserted through the dome top gland nuts at each end of the connector and the conductors are screwed securely into the terminal block. The dome topped cable glands, which form the entry points of the connector, provide an IP68 seal.
In the case of the mini-TEEPLUG, the earth pole is the first to make contact between the male and female end, ensuring safe use. On request, accessories including dust caps for the female end and chassis/panel mount options are available.
The mini-TEETUBE, which is available in 2, 3 or 4 pole options, can be supplied with a wire piercing screw terminal block which makes it possible to secure the connection to IP68 standards in less than a minute. For secure positioning, a mounting clip is also available.
