The PCD Luminus series of interconnect solutions from Amphenol are engineered to support highly reliable low-to-moderate-power and communication signal transmissionin military and commercial aerospace applications. The lightweight, cost-effective series, now available at CDM Electronics, comprises a range of connectors, receptacles, contacts and accessories in various configurations and arrangements to provide unparalleled design and installation flexibility.

Suitable for blind mating, connectors feature a 1/4 turn bayonet style connection or push-and-snap connection for quick and efficient wire installation and maintenance.  The connection options additionally prevent excessive voltage drop, as well as support low mating forces and long contact life.

These interconnects also offer a locking mechanism to ensure stability, and multiple keying positions to allow accurate connectivity. Customers can specify either AS39029 MIL Spec contacts, or stamped and formed contacts for a lower cost option.

The Luminus Series addresses weight-restricted military and commercial aerospace applications in which limited space and vibration are factors.

The connectors are widely used in single engine general aviation, multiple-engine business and passenger jets, as well as inhigh-performance rotary aircraft.  They are most frequently employed in a range of aerospace lighting, IFE (In Flight Entertainment), instrumentation, power and signal distribution, actuation and sensors, soldier communications, military aerospace - rotorcraft, unmanned aerial vehicles), and interior/exterior LEDs.

The interconnects'housingis constructed of durable non-degradablepolyamide to support up to 500 mating cycles, while their triple-barrier construction provides an IP67-rated seal.

The series perform to D160, M81714, FAR25 specifications to meet military/aerospace environmental conditions. All parts are supplied with visual markings to facilitate easy assembly.
