Building on the proven contact technology used in the company's SB and Powerpole connectors, Anderson Power Products announce the Saf-D-Grid Ultra Short Receptacle. These connectors are suitable for use as a safe appliance power connector for server, telecommunication, and other devices up to 600V DC.

Capable of the safe disconnect of 400V DC 20A loads, the Saf-D-Grid connectors are touch safe on both plug and receptacle sides to protect the user from capacitance in the line. Minimising the severity and duration of DC arc flash while shielding the operator, unique geometries provide proper voltage clearance and DC arc protection.

Size compatible with the IEC 320 C13 and C14 AC connection system standard 19.9x26.8mm panel cut out, the Saf-D-Grid Ultra Short Receptacle minimises space requirements within the device and enables solder termination to wire. Additionally, it meets international safety requirements for hazardous, low voltage applications per UL1977 and IEC 61984, as well as touch safety requirements of UL60950 and IEC60950. Anderson Power Products claim that this is the only connector system so sized that is UL rated for disconnect of a 400V DC, 20 amp load.

Enabling the use of Saf-D-Grid in AC systems that require more power by increasing the wattage capability within the existing connector space, Saf-D-Grid also enables greater power density by allowing up to 40A and 600V DC or AC within the same space of the IEC 320 C13 & C14 system that is limited to 10A and 250V AC.
