Said to be unique to the market, the new 1.27mm (0.050) Picoflex discrete wire connectors from Molex are ideal for power applications up to 2.4A at 250V as well for many signal applications. They comply fully with the stringent glow wire requirements of IEC 60335 and are therefore a convenient and cost effective choice for use in appliances and systems that are likely to operate unattended.

The new connectors, available in tin- and gold-plated versions, are compatible with all standard Picoflex headers with between 4 and 26 circuits. For ease of mating and unmating, they are provided with integral finger grip tabs that eliminate the need to use extraction tools. The resulting savings in time are particularly valuable in OEM applications.

Picoflex discrete wire connectors feature a robust crimp terminal design for which hand and semi-automatic crimp tools are available. For medium- and high-volume applications, the connectors can also be used with Molex Mini Mac crimp applicators, which are compatible with industry-standard presses.

The operating temperature range for the new Molex Picoflex discrete wire connectors is -40 to +105ºC, making them suitable for almost all industrial, commercial and domestic applications, and they meet UL94V-0 flammability criteria. They have a maximum contact resistance of 15 milliohms, and a minimum insulation resistance of 1,000 megohms. Their dielectric strength rating is 750V AC.
