M12 is widely used in industrial environments, particularly for connecting machinery and plant components with data-collection terminals and industrial PCs, where preLink technology provides the opportunity to work with pre-wired runs or to easily and quickly expand existing cabling infrastructure or convert it from an IP20 degree of protection to IP65 or IP67.
HARTING has reduced the size of the connector in order to expand the application area of the preLink M12 assembly. This solution enables preLink technology to be used in conjunction with the M12 connector face in applications where space is limited. Additionally, the company has reduced the number of individual parts so that the installer can also perform assembly quickly and easily on site.
Suitable for Fast Ethernet data transmission up to 100Mb/s, the preLink M12 D-coded connector meets the requirements for cabling components under the PROFINET guidelines. Additionally, It is 100% compatible with the M12 standard specified in IEC 61076-2-109, which also describes the eight-pin M12 version suitable for Gigabit and 10 Gb/s data transfer rates (M12 X-coded).
