Lumberg has added two models to its portfolio of DC power supply connectors, boasting a current carrying capacity of up to 10A. Geared specifically towards applications requiring high tensile forces which simultaneously rely on high rated currents of up to 10A for the low voltage range, the connectors comprise a chassis socket and matching power supply.

Whereas the standard for these power supply connections tends to reach up to 2A, the breadth of applications is substantially larger with the new connector pair. The chassis socket of straight design for front-side mounting with a tensile force of up to 15N additionally offers a carrying capacity which supports the suspension of devices. This creates a multitude of usages in terms of support, as is being increasingly called for by the industry and in measurement and control technology.

The contact base of the chassis socket and connector is made of glass fibre reinforced plastic and is UL94 V0 classed. The contacts are made of nickel-plated brass. A 3-pole design, the socket additionally facilitates the transmission of signal currents. The rated voltage is 20VDC at 10A; the insulation resistance a minimum 100MΩ. The service life of the 1614 21 metal chassis socket has been specified for more than 5,000 plug cycles. The 1636 07 cable connector, straight design with bend protection as well as the chassis socket, cover a temperature range of between -40 and +85°C.
