Farnell is ITT Electronic Components' pan-European stockist for its Cannon products

Farnell is ITT Electronic Components' pan-European stockist for its Cannon products
ITT Electronic Components has announced Farnell as the first pan-European stockist for its Cannon Universal Contacts and Mini RF connectors. An independent range of SMT contacts, the new series of Universal Contacts provides an electrical connection between a device and a PCB. Manufactured as a single piece stamped product, incorporating pre-load and anti-lift features, new Universal Contacts have been designed to replace traditional interfaces where the contact is custom designed into the component. The contacts can be used to connect a number of device components in any direction and configuration using the same interface, significantly reducing qualification time. The 1.3mm version features the lowest profile currently available on the market – and an even lower profile option, just 0.9mm in height, is in development.

Torsion- Resistant Cables Specifically for use with Wind Generators

Torsion- Resistant Cables Specifically for use with Wind Generators
Leading cable solutions provider, Lapp Ltd, has made available a new torsion resistant, rubber, single core cable designed by the company specifically for use with today’s wind energy generators. Part of the company’s established Olflex cable family, the H07BN4-F features an abrasion resistant outer sheath and a conductor that that has been developed to allow for torsional movements of ± 150º/m which makes it suitable for connecting the moving gondola to the ground floor transformer. Voltage rating is from 450 to 750V and it meets the exacting requirements of VDE 0282 part 12. Maximum conductor temperature is +90ºC and the black outer sheath is UV resistant and flame retardant to IEC 60332.1.

ITT’s Cannon lightweight filter connector technology withstands high shock and vibration

Launching in Europe at the DSEI Exhibition, ITT’s new Cannon Chip on Flex (CoF) filter technology virtually eliminates all stress from thermal shock and vibration while providing superior protection to sensitive electronics in a new lighter weight package. In MIL-DTL-38999 configurations, the CoF connectors have passed MIL-DTL-38999 Series III testing for thermal shock, random vibration, humidity and high altitude. The filter connectors are ideal for high reliability military, aerospace and industrial applications including integrated avionics, radio and navigation systems, fire control devices, electronic counter measures, satellite communications and data transmitters.
