Wireless connector technology simplifies USB connections
Lattice Semiconductor has announced that its SiBEAM Snap technology will be integrated in Fujitsu’s next-gen Tablet PC, model Q508. According to the company the Q508 will be the first tablet supporting USB 3.1 data transfers at 5Gbps wirelessly and will be displayed during CES 2018. The product will be available in Japan starting in January 2018.

A new female contact for its Datamate connectors that enables significant increases in power delivery levels to be realised has been introduced by Harwin. Utilising a proprietary six-finger design which is machined from a single piece of beryllium copper, the T-Contact raises the current capacity on compact 2mm pitch interconnection systems, with up to 8.5A per contact being supported.

binder UK’s latest addition to its M12 offering are S and T coded insert moulded cable connectors designed for power applications up to a rated current of 12A. The 814, 813 series are suited for voltages up to 63VDC (T-coded) and 630VAC (S-coded) and are supplied with either 3+PE or 4 gold plated contacts. According to binder UK, a key feature is connection security since coding eliminates mis-matching.

Lane Motorsport, a division of electrical and electronic connector specialist Lane Electronics, has made available hermetically sealed versions of Souriau’s high performance 8STA circular connectors. Designed with a glass to metal insert specifically for fuel tank installations, the hermetically sealed connector features excellent resistance to racing fuels and fluids and withstands pressure differential without any loss of electrical performance.
